About Me

Hello. I’m Stephen Farlow, I spent over 40 years working on oil exploration projects worldwide.

I love to travel, see new countries and engage with new cultures.

Now retired and needing something to keep me occupied, stimulated and fit I got back into photography.

A lot has changed!! No more loading films, blind snapping, taking the film to the processor and days later depressed that only 1 out of 36 was worthy of showing your friends.

The technology has advanced exponentially both in the cameras themselves and in the post processing software, I am totally amazed what can be achieved. It has definitely been a steep learning curve and I am still very much at the lower end of it.

My chosen genre for this website is Panoramas, Infrastructure and Streetlife.

I love the sea, the roughness that nature brings and the calming effect of ND filters even, though I am seasick 2 days before boarding a boat in anticipation.

I would love to photograph wildlife (and do if it fell in front of me!) but I’m afraid trudging to remote locations with a 600mm lens and waiting patiently for hours / days / weeks for the perfect shot is for the more dedicated. I applaud those who do and respect their commitment.

I hope you enjoy the content, I have tried to mix things up between real life scenes and occasional heavy post processing to give some artistic / futuristic scenes.

Stephen
